This is a photo book I designed and made for my 19th birthday.
The book consists of photos I took from 2016 to 2018 at various cities
and counties. There are 6 sections of the books that are of 6 different
themes. I also include quotes from some literature that inspired me
throughout the design process to express the everyday life I capture
through the camera.
Taking advantage of this project being a self-motivated one, I
experimented with printing with Pantone colour and other ways to
maximise the visual that I would like to accomplish for this book.

UNTITLED
BOOK DESIGN
A book designed for Editorial Experience project 3. The prompt
is to use 100 found imageries and no text to create a visual
narrative.
My idea is “shadow/light”. I found 100 photos of landscapes
online and edited them into a vertical, monochrome format. All
pages are printed on clear acetate to create a sequence going
from dark to light. Though it will be harder to see individual
images on clear acetate, there is a stonier correlation between
pages just making the audience able to see what is coming next,
and how as thickness increases, things get more opaque. Also, I
consider the black ink printed on acetate the “shadow”, but it
also creates real shadow when being seen under direct light.
doing so, I hope to leave a meaningful mark for my 19th birthday.
